Spring has Sprung. Floral obsession!

Remember in the first 'Sex and the City' movie when Smith sent the flowers to Samantha, and when they bloomed it signified that winter ended and spring brings a new.. well, SPRING HAS SPRUNG AND I HAVE FLORAL OBSESSION:

START DREAMING IN FLORALS!

TODAY

ALL DAY LOVE I HAVE BEEN DREAMING ABOUT....

Five Guys

In-N-Out beware. There is a new guy in town. The infamous 'five guys' of the east has made it's way West, first stop, Palm Desert. Needless to say, we went. I LOVED IT. The french fries KILL-IT. Here are some pictures, eat your heart out, no pun intended. I suggest checking out the website,.. http://www.fiveguys.com/home.aspx

fresh shipped in potatos from Idaho, so unique! love special touches! such a consumer.

they use so many veggies.. grilled mushrooms, jalapenos, etc. O-B-S-E-S-S-E-D

old world- bring peanuts to the table.. kinda cool vibes!

cajuned fries!

Alex had told me it was President Obama's favorite burger... and when I went to try and find a really good picture that wasn't taken by me who was too consumed with the food and on a blackberry, I found this little guy:

Trying not to rush back too soon, but dreaming of the next time that I do!

Opening Day!

Tis that time of year again, when all I can think of is my childhood favorite movie 'DAMN YANKEES', any of you seen it? "WHATEVER LOLA WANTS.... LOLA GETS!" ahahah.. well anyways, the opening scene is a song titled "six months".. and basically the lyrics are about six months out of every year their husbands are MIA and glued to the baseball season, WELL, I NOW KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE SINGING ABOUT, my husband is a sport-a-holic.. and Dodger season puts him into a frenzy of excitement.. we went last night to a "exhibition game" if he could be like my grandma and go 3/4 nights a week when the team was in town, HE WOULD.

SUCH A RAD SKY LAST NIGHT!!

DREAMING of the day I get to sit in the all-you-can-eat bleachers, I think I would appreciate them even more then normal behind home plate blah blah blah... DODGER DOG'S FOR ALL!!

MANILOW!

I forgot to tell you guys- last week I was obviously over the moon to attend a charity event... CONCERT.. that Barry Manilow did, giving 100% of the proceeds to a small local theatre group that Jason Alexander is on the board of, called Reprise Theatre Company, here in LA. Obviously, I was obsessed.

What a philanthropist! AND, he brings tears to my eyes when he plays that piano and sings those powerful words he writes... after all, don't forget,
HE WRITES THE SONGS THAT MAKE THE WHOLE WORLD SING...

OH MANDY!

dreaming of seeing him for third round in Vegas..

Everything is old in the Desert.

IN A GOOD WAY!
I love antique-ing in the desert. THE GEMS ARE LIMLITLESS!! My mother is a real skilled finder. Here are some of my spotting's/obsessions of my Sunday, (disclaimer: I forgot to take a picture of my necklaces I bought, and those were OUT OF THIS WORLD! oh, and you must come over- I also acquired new art!)

CHANEL-O!

I am still thinking I want that ORANGE couch... the nicest man told me it was a 20,000$ custom upholstery job in the 70's. I mean, what was I thinking..... Oh, that it was orange!

Dreaming of the finds that are yet to come... I am hot for a floor to ceiling mirror, has to be the right one.........

AAAAhhhhrnold

Sometimes at the gym I laugh at the guys who want to be like Arnold. (can you now hear the voice reading "AAAhhrnold")

BUT, EVEN MORE SO, I laugh at the gym at peoples creativity. They wear the most creative outfits, and the ride those machines as if it were a magic carpet... sure, sure I sound mean, AND- I AM WELL AWARE that somewhere out there, there could be a blog with a picture of me on an eliptical.. with a title that goes something like
"DO I HAVE TO STARE AT THE FAT GIRL WORKING OUT IN FRONT OF ME" use it as motivation people ;)....

Yesterday I had to laugh at the non-euro boy in shants, and the women in velours and lifting her shirts higher and higher while she shook those hips that I had never seen done before on an eliptical, my blackberry just does not do either justice, use your imaginations people..

I jokingly tweeted while experiencing this (I MUST WORK OUT REALLY HARD, HUH? hahahaah guilty) that I am going to start a blog solely dedicated to things that make me laugh at the gym...

DREAMING.

Diversify!

I applaud anyone and everyone who breaks the mold, dares to be bold and steps outside of their boundaries. ALWAYS. I say no matter where you come, there is always a norm for your families surroundings and lifestyles.. I SAY BREAK IT, don't have only one type of friend who thinks one way, looks one way, and acts one way... BRANCH IT OUT, WALK IN DIFFERENT WALKS OF LIFE... AND LIVE A LITTLE...

Do you have friends who are from different cities, countries, and socio-economic backgrounds? YOU SHOULD. GO MAKE SOME.
Do you have friends who have different religions and beliefs? I HOPE SO.

MORE IMPORTANTLY... do you talk to them? encourage them? get motivated by them? TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEIR REALITIES AND PERSPECTIVES!!

Anyways, I often think about all my different friends... sure we have lots of common ground, and let's be honest.. mine are not polar-extremes, but they are different enough. It comes easy to me because I have different interests that afford me to meet different people... for example, I have water polo friends, I went to college in Hawaii so I have friends that also chose to go to school there (which is different then the norm), I have friends from childhood, friends from religious affiliation, friends from studying abroad, work, family, fashion, political affiliation... ETC..
maybe the key is putting in effort to keep in touch? to reach out to people? that's a thought.. not via facebook.. even an e-mail is so much more personal!

I guess where I am leading is, I went to a friends art-show this weekend and it got me thinking about this topic... She is from Newport, has similar lifestyle, surroundings, did the same activities when we were 5 years old, aka- swim team at the bay club, sewing class, soccer, etc. etc. She ended up at USC, where my mother, father, brother, sister went, and she has a similar affiliation... BUT..I HAVE TO PUMP THE BREAKS AND APPLAUD HER, because like I strive to find in others and am even may I say attracted to in others, IS THE ABILITY TO BE DIFFERENT WHILE REMAINING THE SAME..

SHE BROKE THE MOLD, yes she may know the same people, have some of the same ideas based on our cultural upbringings, BUT.. she has a big girl job and still manages to hold down an incredible art show.. WELL HATS-OFF, that is the kind of stuff that makes me go, gosh this person is cool... they are doing something so unique, so them, all while managing to remain in the "bubble" if you will, and judge me as you will BUT,
YOU HAVE TO BE ABLE TO MANAGE BOTH, I am a believer in some forms of "fitting in" in order to exist and be in a society that you so chose,... aka- she makes good money and still appreciates the things that we all do, and we all wish to stay accustomed to a lifestyle, you don't have to be a starving artist on the streets, to be an artist..

(work by; Karlin Meehan)

so I guess all I am saying is, be passionate about those natural innate feelings that exist within you, all while trying to be a better member of the society you came from or chose to belong to.. WE CAN BE BOTH. AND WE SHOULD.  Just because you are passionate about art, clothing, the gym, baking, food, doesn't mean you are selling out by working in finance, we can do both... keep your mind involved in multiple things..
I am genuinely so impressed by what everyone in my life has been doing with themselves.. starting companies, getting higher educations, being in stable relationships, working hard regardless of "dream job" status, everyone seems to be thriving and coming into their own.. I am so proud and inspired, I can only DREAM of what is to come!

Dim-Sum, Dim-Sum!

Rainy Day, Sunday adventure... BEST IDEA EVER! So glad to have done it..!!

LA was like a monsoon on Sunday.. doesn't stop me from food adventure's..

going out a rainy day was worth it if you have these golden puppies like Alexandra..

my Hunter dream is this:
(disclaimer: I feel creepy posting a picture I didn't take of a celebrity child..but it didn't stop me)

could you just D-I-E.. little girl pink wellies... aaaah!

DREAMING!!

I love it when I find Kevin, I mean.. Jesus.

           Always an LA perk!

jealous of this shot I took of Melissa.. @am0rfati with the main man,...

I just want you guys to know I did a full blown illegal pyschotic U-turn on sunset for jesus,

for old times sake..

I always find jesus in the best places.. in front of the Chateau, and on Rodeo.. if I were ever to be a Jew and be a jew for jesus... you could blame him!

Dreaming of the next spotting.. or should I say "divine intervention"

Visitation!

Ally of http://allyramser.blogspot.com/ and Barbara of http://beginnerblocks.com/ came up to LA to play last Saturday.. and of course, we did the usual,

and...
they played Adam (Lambert) while shopping..
aka- HEAVEN!

Spring forward

The clocks changed, and immediately the weather did as well. So motivating, has gotten me to the gym, into a healthier eating pattern, and even pulling out and shopping for spring/summer wardrobe additions! I love it.
I made the best salad last night.. a homemade slaw with fresh strawberries and cashew's! Gotta go with the season...

yum, right? SO EASY.. bought pre-packaged lettuce, (guilty). Then I added salt/pepper, pineapple juice, and three different types of vinegar based dressings, strawberries and cashews! BAM!
TRY IT!

Save the Manatee's!

I really want to go see the Manatee's at Blue Spring State Park, FL. http://www.savethemanatee.org/

It is so wild how we can identify with certain animals and have a place in our heart special for them.. well mine is manatee's!!! one of many!

picture box!

So, what to do with our wedding dresses? well, when we are all 40... I am having a party, maybe 35? AND EVERYONE WILL WEAR THEIR WEDDING DRESSES!!! good, right?
Except I am thinking I wanna put mine in a picture-box.. like this ol' guy.. self-serving? maybe, but it is better then a self portrait over the mantle if you ask me..

OFFICE SPACE

blogging from work, so why not keep it work based? HA. joke of my life. WORK BASED.. my poor mind goes in so many different directions throughout the day, it is incredibly spontaneous and sporadic. Sometimes that is a blessing and sometimes a major curse. Well imagine me trying to work work work in a office that has a fashion publicist in it? UHMM.... I could literally get up every five minutes (I think maybe today I even did) and find a new item that catches my attention. WHOOOPSIE!

BAM!!!
did I mention I even ordered a new dress online today? typical. Hey, it was on sale.. wanna see?

good right?
Dreaming of it's arrival!

Ok need to leave this office by 6... as if I was being productive anyways. EEEK.

Friday Funk or Friday Funday

So I claim to be a weekend warrior but Friday arrives and I start to dream of laying in bed and watching a movie with a pizza, frozen yogurt and girl scout cookies. For some reason this week has felt like it took 46 years off of my life. AND, not because I was bombarded with work, but just because it went by at a snails pace, and saying snail might even be an understatement.. SLOTH? I mean check out our work environment today, it is like a tornado due in large part to me (guilty), stuff EVERYWHERE, because I just cannot seem to sit still.. it is 5:15, calling it a day?

THIS WAS A WORK WEEK PICK ME UP.. look who my boss brought to a meeting, OBSESSION:

Dreaming of... How about nature? For some reason I stare out the window at the Hollywood sign in this office and it makes me want to hike runyon. Good thing this is in print because I never want to hike or be in nature. My o my, see sometimes DREAMS ARE OBSCURE!
