Fishing

I have never gone on a "fishing trip" or been one to be raised around lot's of "fisherman". Ya, so I have the occasional friend whose dad takes their boat to Catalina to fish... or the random boy who goes and works in Alaska on a fishing boat, so I know SOME people who fish.. but it just hasn't been exactly the most readily known hobby in my kneck of the woods or circle (don't get offended.. I know my brother and some people love to claim they go out and fish.. but please, you guy's go drink and get tan for a few hours and end up in Emerald Bay, I hardly call that FISHING). SO, ANYWAYS... this past weekend, WE WENT FISHING ON OUR GOLF COURSE! yep, you read me right, WE FISHED IN THE PONDS ON THE GOLF COURSE!

I should take that back.. I went salmon fishing back in the day in Alaska and hunting for gold... hahaha TOURIST!

Horse's

Growing up we used to go visit the horse's in Mandeville canyon and feed them carrots. I had a favorite that I remember to this day, Appleoosa. There is something really powerful about them. All aspects of horse's sort of intrigue me. Afterall, horse's or as I like to call them "HORSIES", are linked to A LOT of my favorite activities. For instance.. the race's, I do love to gamble.. and wear big hats! or,... say: Horse therapy.. it is amazing to me what these horse's are capable of doing (google horse therapy, you will be BLOWN away) I know a little boy who literally went from mute to full sentence's with horse therapy. INCREDIBLE. Polo matches,.... hot men, preppy outfits, champagne,... I mean, horse's are spot on. PONY TAILS.. I love nothing more then the perfect pony. HOW ABOUT PONY RIDES? Ok, so I think I am on a horse kick. OH AND I LOVE LOVE LOVE RIDING APAREL.. riding boots, stirrups, you name it.. who knew I was such a horse person.

H&M

Their collection's are so major right now.... I have had an H&M obsession before it even hit the states, and now that it has been here for years.. I would go as far as to say, if their clothes fit you aka- you wear under a size 12... then you may never have to shop couture or contemporary collections again, one stop shop..

The majority of my obsession weren't even online yet that I spotted in the stores,... moral of the story: if you have a good eye.. H&M is where it is at! 

Passover

So it is that time of year that Elijah come's to visit.. and we have Seders galore. I was on the phone with the Foundation I work for's (http://www.noreenfraserfoundation.org/) accountant. Sort of chatting her up about Passover (she is Jewish,...naturally- I said she is the accountant) and I told her about our families seder... as I was talking she took a deep breath and said to me "it is so neat and special to be your age and still have such a multi-generational seder". GOSH THAT MADE ME THINK. Then... my dad gave a speech at seder about how he was talking to a Rabbi recently who told him that the importance of Passover really was just that, the mending of generations... seemed to be a theme. Anyways, of course I was misbehaved and using my blackberry to snap pictures and entertain me throughout the seder.. naturally, I was still at the corner kids table.. guess for good reason. L' CHAIM!

Simplify.

Lately everyone I come across is trying to clean it up. SPRING CLEANING, maybe?
Everyone seems to be evaluating their relationships, job status's, physical being (coachella and swim suits on the horizon), etc. etc.
I find great ease in the fact that.. I have greatly simplified my life. LISTEN, there is something to be said for "the simple life".
I was talking to a colleague yesterday about a personal relationship, and the best advice I could possibly give them, or anyone for that matter is this-
LIFE IS COMPLICATED AS IT IS. JOBS, ILLNESS, NATURAL DISASTERS, STRESS, BILLS, INSURANCE, CAR PROBLEMS, etc. etc. etc... these things all plague our every day's WHICH IS NORMAL, we all face trials and tribulations.. WHY O WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD YOU WANT TO MAKE YOUR OWN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS COMPLICATED AND HARD? don't you deal with enough hardships naturally, that you shouldn't try to pick a roller coaster ride of a relationship?
I GET IT... we love the high's, those fricken high's are SOOO HIGH, but THE LOW'S ARE SOOO LOW, and they quite simply are not worth that high,
if you ask me, I would rather ride steady. BUT, I guess you didn't ask me. SO... ON THAT NOTE,
All I can say is SIMPLIFY-.... make your life easy, I am a firm believer that stress can induce illness, YOU DON'T WANT THAT... why sign up for a stressful time? THERE ARE PLENTY OF INDICATORS AND RED FLAGS OUT THERE, why can we not just follow them? WE KNOW WHEN SOMETHING SMELLS BAD, why taste it?

my spring challenge: CLEAN IT UP. whatever it may be, SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE. I promise, it will bring ease to your everyday.

Deviled EGGS

My mom collects deviled egg plates, and I LOVE deviled eggs. I found her this one at a antique store this past weekend, and she taught me how to make deviled eggs.. so easy, and so good!
